The FinTech Professionals Association’s mission is to bring the traditional financial services world together with new and emerging financial technology companies to expand opportunities, share ideas, network and shape the future of the industry. Our goal is to create a vibrant online community that aggregates FinTech-centric events, news and resources from around the globe while creating a vast network of established and emerging professionals.
The Fintech Professionals Association was founded by Cyfeon as a non-profit organization dedicated to building a robust community for financial service technology companies.
Boe Hartman is chief technology officer of Consumer Financial Technology. He joined Goldman Sachs as a managing director in 2015. Prior to joining the firm, he served as chief information officer at Barclaycard, where he was accountable for leading the technology and aligned change communities that supported Barclaycard globally, with responsibility for managing billions of transactions across Barclaycard’s financial products. Before joining Barclaycard, Boe spent 13 years with CapitalOne where he held a variety of roles across IT and Operations, including positions as vice president for both Consumer Sales and Service Infrastructure and the Strategic Infrastructure and Transformation Team. He serves on the Advisory Council of the Innovation Center of the Cockrell School of Engineering, University of Texas at Austin. Boe attended West Virginia University. He attained his masters certificate in Project Management at George Washington University.
Joy Schoffler, serves as Chief Strategy Officer for Casoro Capital, a single-family office and private equity firm specializing in structuring investments that are suitable, attractive, and efficient for high-net worth individuals, family offices, and institutions. Within Casoro, Joy is responsible for investor relations and the development of innovative financial products to include the launch of their new FinTech enabled private market REIT, Upside Avenue. Prior to joining Casoro, Joy founded Leverage PR, a public relations firm serving clients in financial services, technology, and real estate—where she played a pivotal role creating the strategy which helped businesses, foreign economic ministries and brands like SXSW achieve strategic objectives through business and communication advisory. After seven years, Leverage PR was acquired by NY based Caliber Corporate Advisers, a strategic marketing communications firm. A thought leader in the field of financial technology, Joy sits on the advisory board of the SXSW & AARP Accelerator and FinTech Professionals Association. Joy spent four years on the board of CFIRA working with the SEC and FINRA on JOBS Act implementation, enabling online investing as we know it today. Joy has worked with The PPA Group (Casoro’s parent company) for over a decade, as a long-time investor and director of acquisitions, helping acquire over $250 million in real estate, making Inc. magazine’s “Inc. 5000” list two years in a row. With extensive experience in FinTech, Joy is a go-to source for media, leading to features in CNBC, Forbes, Inc., Reuters, Yahoo among others. Joy has written for Entrepreneur.com, USA Today, and was a contributing author for the Wiley-published Bloomberg Media book “Crowdfunding: The Ultimate Guide to Raising Capital on the Internet.” Joy is the recipient of the Stiletto Woman in Business “Entrepreneur of the Year,” Women Communicators of Austin’s “Outstanding Austin Communicator,” and the 2016 Austin Under 40 award. Joy served as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserves and Texas State Guard.
Harvey Hudes is the CEO and founder of Caliber Corporate Advisers, where he has built the preeminent marketing communications firm serving fintech, insurtech, regtech, and financial services. In 2010, after 13 years as an executive within financial, legal, and marketing media, Hudes recognized his unique position to help clients in niche industries tell their story and ultimately grow their business. Caliber has assisted more than 100 companies, including Goldman Sachs, Blackstone, KKR, and Berkshire Hathaway portfolio companies, asset management firms, and numerous other industry-leading and entrepreneurial companies. In 2017, Caliber acquired Leverage PR, an award-winning fintech-focused agency. Organizations including Finovate, SXSW Accelerator, and Empire Startups engage Caliber for strategic advice and PR support, while Hudes also holds an Advisory Board position at The Financial Revolutionist. Harvey and Caliber also proudly graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.
Brandon Smith is founder and CEO of Cyfeon and is responsible for the company’s strategy and growth. Prior to founding Cyfeon, Brandon had overall executive responsibilities for sales, delivery and operations for the telecommunications vertical at S3. Prior to S3, Brandon joined Lavastorm’s executive team during the dot.com bubble burst where he helped transition the company from a services provider to a global, best-in-class analytics software company. At Lavastorm he held several executive roles including, VP of Engineering, VP of Services and VP of Global Marketing and Product Management. During his tenure at Lavastorm, he managed large, globally distributed teams, launched business units in Europe and Australia and was part of the deal team that oversaw the acquisition of Lavastorm by UK-based Martin Dawes Systems and the subsequent acquisition of Sweden-based Visual Wireless. Brandon holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University, a BBA in CIS from Texas State University and served four years in the United States Marine Corps.
Rod Taylor is EVP, Sales and Business Development for Cyfeon and is responsible for the company’s sales, marketing and growth. Prior to Cyfeon, Rod had overall executive responsibilities for sales, delivery and operations for the financial services vertical at S3, an Austin-based fintech company. Prior to S3, Rod was the Director of Operations at Charles Schwab. Responsibilities included Active Trader Risk Management, Brokerage Technology, and Institutional direct access trading. Prior to Schwab, Rod was a Designated Principle and ran Brokerage Operations at CyberTrader, bought by Charles Schwab in March 2000. Rod served for five years on the board of the Dallas Security Traders Association. He continues to be involved with several startup or emerging companies as an operations person or advisor.
Radhika Malhotra has been involved in all aspects of the financial services industry – from global semiconductor equipment financing to managing consumer facing financial products. She currently is a Senior Manager at Borrowers First, an upcoming Austin-based FinTech platform. Prior to her role at Borrowers First, Radhika was a member of the founding team at a Dallas-based REIT. She additionally served as a Consistency Leader at GE Capital. Her career spans roles at Credit Suisse First Boston, Fairbanks Capital, Merrill Lynch and Kotak Mahindra a $2.07 billion global financial services company. In addition to her deep background in finance, she is also an active member of many financial services, technology and business groups including; Financial Women in Texas, Business Women of Austin, Pratham and the Austin Intercultural Network. Radhika has an MBA in Finance & marketing from Symbiosis and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Fergusson College.
Gordon Moore is Founder and Principal of GBM Strategies, LLC, an Austin-based business advisory firm established to play an integral role in the growth and development of FinTech companies. Empowered by a mission to bridge the gap between FinTech and the financial services industry via collaborative innovation, GBM Strategies advises clients through all aspects of their entry and expansion within the vertical including ideation, product development, value proposition development, regulatory compliance, market segmentation and validation, messaging and communications, go-to-market strategy, brand positioning, B2B sales and channel partnerships. Prior to launching GBM Strategies, Mr. Moore served as Vice President – Business Development within IBAT Services, Inc., a for-profit subsidiary of Independent Bankers Association of Texas, where he led due diligence efforts for the Association’s endorsements of products and services and advised industry suppliers on both product marketing strategy and business development strategy. Previously, Mr. Moore held the role of Account Executive with Hill+Knowlton Strategies where he provided public affairs and strategic communications insights to AT&T in an effort to navigate the intersection of corporate, legislative, and regulatory objectives across a region of 22 states. An active member of the Austin community, Mr. Moore serves on the Board of Directors for Young Men’s Business League and Austin Sunshine Camps. Mr. Moore has also served as a board member of Austin Young Chamber of Commerce and dedicated countless hours in service to numerous organizations including Leadership Austin, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas, Austin Symphony BATS, Austin Opera, Blanton Museum of Art, GivingCity Austin, and Association of Fundraising Professionals. A native Austinite, Mr. Moore is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Leadership Austin’s EMERGE program.
Rory Holland is the Founder and CEO of CSTMR, a digital marketing firm that helps fintech and financial services companies attract more customers and grow. The CSTMR team has experience in all sectors of fintech and financial services – both B2B and B2C, and helped companies like Nav.com acquire its first 100k business customers, Cardpool design engaging new mobile and web experiences to drive growth, and DepositAccounts become the leading site for banking and depository products. For more than 20 years, Rory has been an entrepreneur and business leader helping fintech and finserv companies optimize their marketing to drive growth and revenues. Prior to CSTMR, Rory was the CMO at Credit.com, where he helped relaunch the brand and develop new revenue channels, he co-founded BlueSky Marketing, a leading automotive marketing company, and launched two marketing agencies that were acquired, ID8 and Telling. CSTMR was founded in San Francisco and is headquartered in Austin, Texas where he lives with his wife and two children. Rory was born in North Carolina and grew up in the great state of Michigan where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Michigan State University.
